Here is a little look at some of the meals and snacks I have had over the past couple of days as a busy culinary student. Some of these things I ate on campus during or between classes, and others I ate while my long distance boyfriend visited over the past weekend, allowing me to eat more exciting and fun things off campus that don't typically appear in my diet.

Not the prettiest thing, but Hollandaise and broccoli is so damn good. We made this in my culinary fundamentals class to work on the production of hollandaise sauce and green vegetable cookery. After presenting my plate to my chef, I snacked on this buttery deliciousness while cleaning my station.

I forgot to take a picture before we started attacking these gorgeous macarons from Amanda's Macaron Shop in Hyde Park. Fun flavors such as, blueberry lavendar, Sunny Delight, and Kettle Corn curbed our sweet tooth and my boyfriend's astronomical obsession and desire for these crunchy and fluffy cookies that we have to get everytime he visits. https://amandasmacaronshoppe.com

Horchata at the Kingston Farmer's Market. This cold and creamy drink filled with warm spices was the perfect treat this Saturday while basking in the sun at the cute farmer's market. Horchata is one of my favorites, so I almost always get it when I see it being sold.

Dinner from Palace Dumplings. I have heard great things about Palace Dumplings since my first semester, and I regret not going until this past weekend. My boyfriend and I ordered pork and scallion dumplings, chicken and cabbage dumplings and vegetable fried rice which we ate alongside their declicious array of sauces that paired perfectly with the dumplings. http://www.palacedumpling.com

We picked these tiny bites of flavor at Greig Farm on Sunday afternoon. I ended up eating them a few days later alongside some nutella as an after-lunch-sweet-treat. We had a great time picking the strawberries, which were some of the best I have ever had! There is nothing better than fresh picked produce. https://www.greigfarm.com

Desserts from my friend's IPP class. At the CIA, you are constantly leaving class with food and being friends with pastry students means you are constantly eating their delicious creations. My friend knew of my boyfriend's love for macarons, and gave us this box with a variety of sweet treats that they so kindly shared with us. We snacked on these in the car as we decided what to order for dinner, it was a tad counter-productive to figuring out dinner plans, but so worth it to eat these fun treats.

Chipotle, which I can only assume is a staple in every college student's diet. This was the last meal my boyfriend and I had together before he started his trip back to Pennsylvania, so we wanted to get something quick and easy, and filling. I typically get a bowl, but chose a burrito on Monday, but everything inside stayed the same- brown rice, black beans, chicken, queso, corn, cheese and lettuce. I also almost always have a root beer with my chipotle, it's the perfect sugary accompaniment to my burrito.
